Aria Entertainment, or just Aria for short, strives to provide the best quality cover songs, over several different genres and languages of music. We are audition-based, meaning you will have to send in an audition and be accepted, before you can join in on the fun. What sets us apart from other cover singing groups is likely to be our freedom of choice. We do not assign members to groups, but instead, allow you to freely choose amongst the different genre sub-groups that we have to offer. Why? All of us find that sometimes, it’s just far too restricting having to sing with a certain bunch of people, a particular stereotype of song, and the fact that we’re required to do things. Aria’s tagline, “sing to your own strengths”, aptly emphasises what our mission is. As singers, we all personally know what we can sing, what we enjoy singing, and what we can’t sing. Who cares if you have a cute, or a manly, or a girly voice? Sing what you like, is what we say!
As mentioned above, instead of groups, we have sub-group projects that are split up by genre (for most part). All members may participate in any of the sub-groups and projects that are available, and are not required to participate if they don’t think any of the songs suits them (we like freedom, remember?). The sub-groups are as follows:
- Pop is dead – pop
- Love goes like… – ballads
- Kakusei Herosim – rock
- Astrosexy – urban/hip-hop
- Sorairo Days – girlbands/groups (e.g. H!P, AKB48 etc.)
- Rock This House – boybands/groups (e.g. JE, DBSK, Super Junior etc.)
- Otaku Club – anime/gaming stuff
Additionally, there is also the Anything Goes section, in which special events & festive releases are held by moderators of Aria (e.g. New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Summer Holiday etc.).
Aria, above all, is just here for everyone to have fun and enjoy singing what they like to sing, and make new friends in the process.
